REI presented its Supplier Partner of the Year 2020 awards. Hoka One One received the Cooperative’s Supplier Partner of the Year 2020 award. The following suppliers have won the 2020 divisional awards:
- Action sports: Cannondale, 2019 All-round Supplier of the Year award. The company responded to pandemic market conditions with rapid leadership and decision-making. He partnered to open DTC bike sales immediately after REI stores closed and created online training content for the needs of his retail staff supporting expertise when reopening. Cannondale has prepared for the future by developing a progressive packaging reduction strategy, including the introduction of 100% sustainable packaging on select 2021 Cannondale bikes.
- Camp: Nemo Equipment, winner of the 2017 Selling Partner of the Year award, returns as the winner of the camps division of REI for its continued commitment to product innovation and work to complement sustainability impact goals by REI. A founding member of the OIA’s Climate Action Corps, Nemo Equipment was also one of the first brands to take REI’s initiative to eliminate packaging waste by removing individual poly bags and was also awarded with a Green Good Design Award 2021.
- Clothing: FjÃ¤llrÃ¤ven exceeded partnership goals by designing a personalized experience for customers to get to know the brand, and it was one of the first brands to take REI’s initiative to eliminate individual polybags.
- Shoes and basics: Darn Tough Vermont, winner of the 2013 Supplier Partner of the Year award, wins again in 2020 for the quality of their socks and for their management of supply needs in 2020. A family-owned sock factory producing exclusively in Vermont supports its employees and the community.
