The best beauty product launches of June
Sun color makeup
All About-Face eye products are divine, and this trio of summer eye shadow sticks is no exception. The shadow continues so gently and really doesn’t move once it’s taken. These neon hues were unexpected and slightly intimidating at first, but quickly became my go-to when I want pops of color in my makeup. – Tamim Alnuweiri, beauty and wellness writer
For a luxurious pigmented pout
After countless months of wearing a mask, I am currently obsessed with a heavily styled lip. Lately I’ve loved the KKW Lip Lacquer jars – I love to layer them with a lip liner and sometimes a gloss for a multi-dimensional pout. – Tamim Alnuweiri, beauty and wellness writer
The hair freshener
The elements of summer aren’t easy on the hair – and that’s exactly why I swore by Ceremonia’s Guava Rescue Spray. It provides blue light and UV protection, protects your strands from pollution and prevents heat damage from styling. While the multitasking functionality is already a win for me, the product’s tropical scent alone would make it a mainstay of my routine: a spritz transports me to Tulum (at least in my head). – Rachel Lapidos, senior lifestyle and beauty editor
A serum that packs a punch
I’m always on the lookout for multitasking serums that target multiple skin concerns in one bottle. Supernal Illuminate won my heart to soothe my dry face, smooth my texture and give a radiant glow. And that’s thanks to its solid list of complexion boosters, including dragon fruit seed oilrosehip, licorice root, and bakuchiol (an alternative to retinol), all of which work as a multivitamin for my skin. – Rachel Lapidos, senior lifestyle and beauty editor
A hero who washes his face
Amid the rise of alternatives to wet makeup wipes that are much more effective and better for your skin, Uoma Beauty’s new brand Uoma Beauty by Sharon C has let down a game-changing superstar. These water activated facial wipes are made from 100% cotton and infused with argan oil, leaving your skin feeling fresh, hydrated and makeup-free in just one or two passes. – Kui Mwai, beauty writer
An intoxicating hair essential
A marriage made in beauty heaven is the marriage of DS & Durga’s “I Don’t Know What” scent enhancer and Crown Affair’s flagship hair oil. I get hydration, heat protection and softness for my hair from this easy-to-absorb elixir, but I also end up working in a lovely woody scent of bergamot and vetiver. I do not know what factor to elevate my hairdressing experience. – Audrey Noble, beauty writer
I’m obsessed with gut health – it controls everything from your skin to your mood to your immune system – and I’m always excited when a new probiotic comes along. This one from Love Wellness really impressed me because it’s made with prebiotics, probiotics, and postbiotics to help balance your gut and calm your digestive system. I took one every day for the past month as I was traveling for the first time in a long time and my stomach was very happy and balanced. I have not fallen ill once! I count them as a new favorite. – Faith Xue, Beauty Executive Director
An uplifting scent
When it comes to scent, I have largely been buried throughout the pandemic. (As reconcileI didn’t see the point.) When a trio of lab samples from Cartier’s new river-inspired fragrance collection arrived at my doorstep, it was like a harbinger of summer. – and return to normal. While all three scents are truly delicious, I find myself gravitating towards Luxuriance, a botanical scent with hints of geranium, oak and wild herbs. After being locked inside for over a year, the scent of nature is particularly cathartic. – Hilary Shepherd, beauty writer
The Essential Antioxidant Serum
If you are in need of a new vitamin C product, I cannot recommend this one highly enough. It is packed with not one but three powerful sources of antioxidants (acai, tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, and sea buckthorn) in an oil base. My skin sucks it in and looks more even and hydrated after daily use. – Rachel Lapidos, senior lifestyle and beauty editor
For hair mending
I still spray and apply all the different leave-in products through my hair, but this one gave me a break after absorbing it. My tips were actually instantly softer. It’s not just for split ends, however – the lightweight formula smooths frizz, increases shine, hydrates, and strengthens. Personally, it has become a staple for keeping my hair smooth despite the humidity. – Rachel Lapidos, senior lifestyle and beauty editor
The perfect summer face cream
It feels like a particularly hot and sticky summer, so my skin care routine needs to get even lighter than the season usually dictates. This moisturizer is exactly that – it’s so airy that I don’t worry about my pores getting clogged or my face getting very oily. It’s the perfect amount of nourishment and hydration for the season. Pro tip: I like to put some on my face and neck before giving myself a gua sha facial. – Tamim Alnuweiri, beauty and wellness writer
The glittering staff
I want every part of my body to sparkle and shine this summer. Carrying around a glitter body oil is a bit too much, however, so I’ve kept one of those Lime Crime sticks in every bag I own. The highlight gives the perfect level of luminescence: it looks like sunlight on the skin but doesn’t have any big glitter or sparkles that ruin the illusion. Plus, the slim size of the applicator makes it perfect for application to the cheekbones and, my personal favorite, the collarbones. – Tamim Alnuweiri, beauty and wellness writer
A Radiance Serum
I’m always on the hunt for the latest glow sensor, and if it can do the job while I’m asleep, then even better. Filled with AHA and PHA, this highly concentrated nighttime serum is balanced with soothing aloe juice and cottonseed water that combine to provide a gentle chemical exfoliation overnight. The silky formula absorbed in seconds left my skin with a slight tingling sensation (a bonus for those who like Feel their products work) and gave me radiant results in the morning, which showed that the product lives up to its name. – Erin Stovall, Senior Beauty Editor
A base for banishing escapes
I’m not looking for a base on a daily basis, but for those occasions when I want my skin tone to be perfect (which is happening more and more these days as social events revert to IRL), I’ve reached for it. It smooths out the areas of my face that need help in the texture department, while working to prevent future blemishes via salicylic acid. – Erin Stovall, Senior Beauty Editor
